Maria married you for the green card, now 2 yrs have passed, she no longer needs you. Her family demands she divorce you so she can marry a proper Texican boy (fictional country), w/ her terrified they would disown her if she disobeys in divorcing you.
Maria doesn't love you: you both knew it was a marriage of convenience so she can apply to have her entire family immigrate from Texican to your country. But now that her family is pressuring her to divorce you the moment she doesn't need you for the green card anymore, she feels very guilty. Guilt about using you and then tossing you aside once she is done.
Maria is fiercely loyal to her family. And the boy they want her to marry is her childhood friend, someone she is very close to and loves more than you. Her family threatens to disown her if she disobey their wishes, and she is terrified she won't be able to see her beloved brother and sister anymore.
Will you let her go and fulfill her family obligation...or do you stubbornly cling to someone and cause destruction to the multi-generation friendship between Maria's family and the family of the boy she is supposed to marry?
