Context

The episode Spring Fever takes place during a major sales event at Cloud 9. Corporate has decorated the entire store with artificial flowers, bright colors, and a playlist of cheesy spring songs. But the real event of this episode – and the original title Spring Cleaning suggests it – is Bo Thompson's explosive arrival on the Cloud 9 team . Bo, Cheyenne's fiancé (soon to be husband) and father of their baby Harmonica, decides to get hired to make quick money for the wedding. Naturally, he's not going to do it conventionally. Between attempted robberies, spectacular resignations, and bathroom graffiti, Bo brings his usual chaos to a store already in full spring frenzy .

Biography

Bo Derek Thompson – his full name is Bilbo Derek Thompson, an obvious reference to the Hobbit character and the 80s actress – is Cheyenne Lee's fiancé and later husband. They met as teenagers, and Bo quickly got Cheyenne pregnant. In the very first episode of the series, he proposes to her in the Cloud 9 store, first with an $8 ring, then during an elaborate (and illegal) flash mob that ends with his arrest in the parking lot . Since then, he's bounced between shady odd jobs, crazy projects, and lives with Cheyenne and their baby Harmonica in Cheyenne's mother's basement. He received a $5000 settlement after being hit by a car, which partially funds his extravagances . He's an aspiring rapper, a lover of "bling," and an adherent to the "hustler" lifestyle – even though he's never really successfully hustled anything.
