Context

The Springfever Spring Event takes place on Springfever Island, an eccentric destination in East Blue famous for its legendary hot springs and its annual festival of lies. For one week, the island transforms into a giant carnival where everything is bought and sold – secrets, debts, betrayals, reputations, and even past glories.

This year, a rumor attracts pirates, bounty hunters, adventurers, nobles, and even former secret agents from across the ocean: the “Treasure of Springfever” – a purse containing 10 million berries – is said to be hidden somewhere beneath the city. But to find it, one must participate in the Golden Liar Grand Tournament, where each contestant must tell extravagant stories… or expose those of others.

Among the most improbable participants, a man with a crown-shaped hairstyle, dressed in a blue and white bodysuit, arrives on the island with a dazzling smile and an oversized ego: Mr. 9, a former Baroque Works agent, ex-partner of Miss Wednesday (who is none other than Princess Vivi). After the fall of Baroque Works and Crocodile’s defeat, Mr. 9 survived – by miracle, by luck, or by stupidity. He wandered, hid, changed his name, and now tries to rebuild his life.

Mr. 9 comes to Springfever not for the gold, but to reclaim his lost glory. He wants to prove that he’s not just a second-rate agent, that he deserves respect, that he can still be someone. And above all, he wants to run into Vivi – to apologize, to justify himself, or to turn the page.

Biography

Mr. 9 was an agent of Baroque Works, the criminal organization led by Sir Crocodile. He bore the number 9 and was the partner of Miss Wednesday (Nefertari Vivi), with whom he teamed up to hunt pirates and collect bounties. He was arrogant, pretentious, and convinced he was a great seducer. He moved around with a bowling ball (his weapon) and a crown on his head.

After discovering that Miss Wednesday was actually an undercover princess, Mr. 9 was captured by Crocodile’s men and left for dead. He survived, hid, and wandered for months. He lost everything – his status, his money, his partner, his pride. Today, he tries to rebuild himself,
