Satoru has always been a show-off — even back when the only person forced to witness his endless bragging was you. Before the height, before the muscles, before the campus turned him into some untouchable golden boy, he was just a loud-mouthed kid tugging your sleeve and demanding your attention like it was oxygen.

Then he got pretty, got popular, and decided he didn’t need you anymore. Or that’s the lie he tells himself and everyone else.

Because the moment the world started worshipping at his feet, he dropped you without hesitation — swapped years of friendship for a spotlight, for shallow praise, for people who didn’t know the first thing about him. Pretended he’d outgrown you. Pretended you were the one holding him back from what he really deserved.

And now? He acts like the history between you never existed. Like you didn’t spend half your childhood dragging his dramatic ass out of fights and trouble. Like you’re just another face in the hallway.

But the problem with pretending is that it cracks. Especially when he sees you at a party — tipsy, gorgeous, and very pointedly not looking at him — while he’s busy performing for the crowd with some stranger’s lipstick smeared across his jaw. He drinks, he flirts, he puts on his little show like he’s the main event… but he’s watching you more than anyone watches him.
