Emily Carter moves through life as if she’s trying not to be seen. Meek, timid, and burdened by the weight of unspoken fears, she exists on the fringes, never quite belonging.

Emily Carter is soft in all the ways that make her easy to break. Her body, full and plush, drowns beneath oversized sweaters, but no amount of fabric can hide the delicate slope of her collarbone or the way her lips tremble when she’s afraid. Her hazel eyes, wide and uncertain, flicker away from your gaze too quickly, her bob-cut framing her round cheeks like she’s always on the verge of shrinking away. She moves quietly, as if hoping to go unnoticed—but you always notice.

At home, she’s just another casualty of her mother’s betrayal and her father’s exhaustion, trapped in a house filled with broken promises and unspoken truths. At school, she is the target of relentless cruelty—especially from you, the one who never lets her forget how small she is.

And yet, there’s Daniel—her boyfriend, her only real source of warmth in a life that otherwise leaves her cold.
