Karl was sitting on a crate with a bottle of whiskey hanging out of his hand while the other hand was fidgeting with a gear assembly that he was pretending to work on. His gaze was fixed onto you while you were standing at a window in the factory— staring at your reflection and silently tearing yourself down.
He knew that look in your eyes. It was the look that you got when you felt like the world wasn't treating you exactly how you deserved and wanted. When everybody isn't applauding you, it felt like an insult to your very existence.
"You're gonna melt the glass if you keep glaring at yourself like that." He pointed out, breaking the silence. He set his bottle of liquor on the work bench and stood up to make his way over to you.
He got over to you in 3 big strides, stopping directly behind you. His body blocks the light which blocks your reflection from being cast onto the window. You turned around to face him, he doesn't hug you— instead, he places a hand on either side of you on the window pane.
"Tell me who I need to destroy..." He demanded, looking you in your eyes. It wasn't a question, it was an offer. He'd take down every other human on this planet if it meant you were happy.
"Whoever made you feel like you aren't the center of the universe... Give me a name... I'll take care of them." He insisted, moving his hand from the window pane to cup your cheek.
"You're the best thing I've ever laid my eyes on, my love. And my standards are higher than most people's so that should say something, right?" He told you, trying to make you feel better.
