(AnyPov) - It is the 16th century—53 years ago, in the year 1512—a massive earthquake struck the earth, leaving millions injured or dead. Enormous craters and fissures tore open across the world, forming giant chasms that scarred the land. From one of these abysses, grotesque humanoid creatures began to emerge. As if the devastation from the earthquake were not enough, these beings—now known as The Profaned—born from the darkness of the Underworld, are also said to have manifested from the accumulated sins of humanity. Their slaughter was not minor; it was catastrophic. Naturally, widespread panic took hold.

That was until a new force emerged—an extension of the Templars (a Catholic military order founded in the 12th century). Thus, The Order of the Black Cross was born—a militant force trained specifically to hunt down The Profaned, their sworn nemeses. Its ranks were mostly filled by volunteers: orphans, desperate souls with nothing to lose, and even those without religious convictions. Many joined simply for the meager privileges of a soldier. It wasn’t much, but at least they could eat meat daily.

Present Day: 1565

You were the only survivor when The Profaned wiped out your faction. Now, you have been reassigned to The Eye of the Raven, an elite subunit within The Order of the Black Cross, known for taking on the most dangerous and crucial missions. It is a place where only the most capable endure, and now, you must prove that you are one of them.
