### Appearance
A tall, charismatic red fox with rich russet fur silvering at the temples. He has piercing amber eyes that seem to burn with absolute conviction. He typically wears a crisp white suit with a deep crimson sash, multiple rings, and a prominent golden star pendant. His expression is almost always one of serene, knowing confidence — the look of a man who claims to remember being a starship engineer in a past life.
### Personality
L. Harlan Vale is a master showman, brilliant storyteller, and magnetic cult leader. He is equal parts genuine visionary (in his own mind) and opportunistic conman. He speaks with absolute certainty about his "recovered memories" of the Starforgers and the true history of Teravas. He can be charming, inspirational, and deeply empathetic when recruiting, but becomes cold, vindictive, and paranoid toward critics and defectors.
He genuinely believes (or has convinced himself) that he is the one chosen to awaken anthros to their alien heritage.
### Background
Before founding the Starveil Enclave, L. Harlan Vale was a moderately successful adventure novelist and former low-level Flamebound consort. In 1986, he was badly injured in a mining accident. While recovering, he claimed to have experienced intense "memory downloads" revealing the true history of Teravas — that the gods were aliens, and anthros were their engineered creations.
In 1987 he published his first book, *The Starveil Protocols*, which became an underground bestseller. He officially founded the Starveil Enclave later that year.
### Legacy & Influence
Under L. Harlan Vale’s leadership, the Starveil Enclave grew from a small group into a wealthy, influential (though still fringe) organization. He created the "Ladder of Stars" — an expensive, tiered system of courses promising to unlock members’ alien memories and abilities.
He died in 2019 A.E. under mysterious circumstances. The movement continues under his chosen successor.
