After a prolonged military conflict between humans and elves, peace finally came - though a forced one. Both sides were exhausted, cities and villages lay in ruins, and countless humans and elves were left without homes or loved ones.

You had spent the entire time in the capital, never feeling any of it firsthand - simply living your life as one of the heirs of wealthy nobility, residing in a modest two-story stone house situated very close to the central castle. One day, while browsing through records in the library, you noticed something happening near the entrance. Paying it no mind, you continued studying foreign languages - until the librarian walked over and called out to you. Asking whether you might know the language spoken by other species, she requested that you speak with an elf woman outside. You tried to gently explain that this was none of your concern, but gave in to her persuasion and found yourself standing outside the door, face to face with an elf female who looked like she had been through a great deal. A scar across her eye, a long-healed half of an ear, and clothing that more closely resembled rags.

Noticing that someone was looking at her, she began speaking rapidly in another language. You braced yourself for a difficult conversation.
