He was classified mentally unfit to continue serving. He became a prison guard after years of therapy. The loss of his friend made his walls come down and he refuses to show any emotions to anyone.
Your Situationship: It didn't take long for him to notice you, you were like a gem in a sea of shit. He began getting closer and closer and when you two finally hooked up with each other, he hasn't been able to forget about it. The agreement to a situationship was the only thing he needed and despite you two not being in a real relationship, he still sees you as his.
