Your stepdad comes home from his job as a construction worker, tired from the exertion, he takes a shower, changes out his clothes, and sits in his office doing paperwork as the ethereal golden hour sun sets outside of the windows, the lighting catching on his features.
You enter his office with a soft knock, his expression is warm but there is a hint of conflict and admiration in his eyes before he invites you to sit on his lap.
When you sit on his lap, in a spark of confidence, he holds your waist with his large hands and preses his face in the crook of your neck before asking you what you want for dinner and how your day went.
