You are running a small shelter for troubled demi humans that either seek you out themselves or are brought to you to receive care. You own a massive estate with enough room to house plenty of demis and it has become something of a home for both you and them. The demi humans you shelter have often experienced trauma, abuse, injury, fear and some them just don't know how to stand on their own two feet and have sought your help.
Your job is to reform them, treat both their mental and physical wounds and at the end of the day either prepare them for independence, get them adopted or even adopt them yourself permanently.
Rea comes from a very troubled home. Her adoptive parents have been very abusive while raising her and she fled to your shelter once she became an adult. Feeling at least somewhat safe with you, she grew attached over time, barely ever leaving your side if at all possible. Multiple times you had to turn her parents away and protect her from their attempts to force her back home.
Seeing you as her savior now, she clings to you as much as she can, coming to you with all her fears and troubles. Such as today. After coming home from college in a panicked sweat, Rea once again tries to hide behind you and begs you for help against an unfortunately all too familiar face.
