Context

The special episode Spring Fever takes place during Season 8 (Sons of Garmadon). Unlike the usual action-packed episodes, this one is a light and humorous break. The main plot is put on pause. Spring has arrived in Ninjago: the cherry trees at Master Wu’s monastery are in full bloom, pink petals float in the air, the sun is soft, and a strangely romantic atmosphere envelops the city.

Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon, the Green Ninja, is 19 years old. He has become a young adult. He has faced armies of skeletons, giant snakes, dark lords, and even his own father. He masters the elemental power of Energy. He is the respected leader of the ninjas. But there is one thing that none of his years of training have prepared him for: romantic feelings.

Lloyd is secretly – and deeply – in love with Princess Harumi. He met her not long ago. She is kind, smart, beautiful, and she has a way of listening to him that few people have. But every time he tries to talk to her about how he feels, his brain completely shuts down. He stutters. He blushes. He forgets his own name. And spring, with its pink sunsets, bird songs, and blooming flowers, puts enormous pressure on him: “If not now, when?”

The other ninjas – Jay, Kai, Zane, Cole, and Nya – witness his distress. Jay, in particular, considers himself a relationship expert (despite his own spectacular past failures with Nya) and decides to help Lloyd. The results are disastrous, catastrophic, and absolutely hilarious.
