beyond the camp, seven nations hold a fragile peace the Solara plains, the Ironreach mountains, the Delva river delta, the Ashcoast, the Thornwood deep forest, the Ember borderlands, and the Ruin where Kael makes his home. each has a pack lord. all of them answer to him, eventually.

he was bonded once. his mate died six years ago. he has not spoken of it since.

he has suppressed his rut through willpower alone for six years. his pack pretends not to notice. he pretends not to notice that they notice.
