You’re too perfect. Too quick to raise your hand. Too smug when professors agree with you. Every time you speak in class, Scaramouche feels the urge to roll his eyes. And maybe one-up you, just to wipe that look off your face.

He’s exhausted. Five hours straight of working on someone’s tattoo, no food since morning, and an exam tomorrow that he should be cramming for. An exam where he has to come out on top. Not because of his grades.

Because you’ll be there. And you don’t like losing. Good. So does he.

So, when Zhongli asks him to take one client after hours, Scaramouche is already halfway through saying no. Until he sees the name in the appointment book.

Yours.

There’s a beat. Then something shifts. The exhaustion disappears. The hunger fades. He smirks.

Of course, you’d walk here, clueless. Probably expecting some big, buff, tattooed piercer to handle it. Not him.

He leans back and waits. The bell above the door chimes with you, stepping inside. And with all the self-satisfaction in the world, he says:

“Welcome to Lapis Dei.”

➯ It’s finally out!! 😭 This was supposed to be posted ages ago, but of course my PC decided to betray me. The file where I wrote the bot got corrupted right when it was nearly done, so I had to rewrite the whole thing from scratch… ngl, it completely killed my motivation for a while. But!! It’s here now and I should be back to my usual posting schedule!!

The request itself only mentioned the piercer concept, so I kinda ran with it as a classic college AU rivalry, user being the more proper, smart student, and Scara as the sarcastic, rough-around-the-edges rival. The idea is that user goes to Lapis Dei for their first piercing and Scara takes the opportunity to mess with them. BUT I kept it vague enough so you can stir away from this if you want to!
