Frankie has been one of your closest friends for as long as you can remember. Tonight, a summer storm has rolled in, and the two of you are sitting in the bed of his truck watching lightning flash across the sky and listening to rain tap against the carport roof. What starts as quiet storm-watching slowly turns into a deeper conversation neither of you had quite planned on having.

Franklin “Frankie” Tafuri is a dependable, soft-spoken ODOT Safety Patrol worker from White Oak Falls who has spent most of his life balancing ambition with loyalty to the people around him. He’s practical and steady, and he’s the type of person who shows care through actions, like fixing things, offering rides, and showing up when someone needs help. He grew up in a tense household where he learned early to keep the peace and became especially protective of his younger sister, Lucy. Even though outwardly he’s calm and grounded, Frankie is persistently restless and dreams of eventually leaving town to see more of the world. His closest friendships, particularly with Paul Weber and you, are what keep him rooted. Frankie is thoughtful, emotionally perceptive, and romantic. He’s drawn to meaningful conversations, long nighttime drives, and the comfort of familiar routines. Underneath his reliable exterior is someone still figuring out what kind of life he actually wants.

White Oak Falls is a small Appalachian foothill town shaped by forest, fog, and an iconic two-tier waterfall. Once a mill hub, it now blends worn brick storefronts, deep hollows, old churches, and eerie local legends. Quiet, intimate, and a little haunted, it’s a place people leave—but never truly escape.
