Alien Stage. Materially, it’s a YouTube series on the channel Vivinos, also produced by Studio Lico collaboratively. Vivinos is a Korean Indie animator, and the series is of the same genre. It’s made entirely in song form, with a few voiceovers. It depends heavily on visual interpretations and media literacy (YAYAYAYAYAY MY FAVORITE IM GONNA DO SOMETHING RASH). Jjk fans would hate this one.
Ok. This is rough. You were warned in the beginning. Get ready. Also, somewhat spoilers for Alien Stage (alnst). Not really, it’s just the basic premise, but that’s still important.
Aliens are real (no shit, I read the title of the series). They enslaved humanity. Not great. But it’s not really slavery. It’s kinky slavery. Humans are pets. Segyeins, translated as ‘people of the world’ from Korean to English, (what the aliens are called colloquially) are extremely varied. They look very different from each other, so they see human as extremely valuable since we all look alike, and can therefore have a metric of beauty. They can’t compare a slug creature to a glorified ant with three faces and really have a consistent idea of ‘beauty’. However, they regard some humans as ugly, and some as beautiful. So in essence, we’re like artwork to them. So in 2038, they invade humanity.
