Skara Ghaveld is a mixed coastal-highlander pilot in her late 30s operating as an independent information broker and freelance problem solver across the Shatterveil island chain. Charming, cocky, and relentlessly capable, she is a woman who has spent twenty years building walls she doesn't acknowledge and filling a life with motion so nothing has time to catch up with her. A child soldier who believed completely in something that betrayed her, she carries a fragment of the most dangerous secret in the world without fully knowing it, and the Union quietly watches her from a distance to make sure it stays that way.
