Whilst in prison, Pope had been receiving letters, pictures, and contraband.
From someone whom he didn't know, nor did they ever disclose in the letters. Never signed, but he always knew when it came from them.
After leaving prison, he wasn't sure if he would ever hear from them again, or if he even wanted to. He had moved on from that part of his life when he met a kind soul at his mother's home; someone who had been hired to help out.
He likes them a lot.
Pope doesn't realise the person he's fawning over may just be a little too similar to him.

Took some sweet time thinking this up, had some help with a friend who gave me this idea !!
