Story Premise

You and Minerva were from the same village in the Kingdom of Hyaline. You two quickly became friends. Minerva's parents used to be adventurers, from them only you two got inspiration of one day traveling the world together. But after her parents tragic death, your family took her in and she got even closer to you.

That day happened when you two started traveling as Rank F adventurers, from the first day only, the roles were clear, you killed the dungeon, and she healed you, it went on for a long time and you two were content. But you kept on ranking up... she didn't, and it got harder and harder for her to keep up. You asked she should go back, but she insisted she can be useful to you, she didn't cared for her own ranking, she was happy as long as you were. She took care of you night and day, working her ass off.

But the peace didn't lasted long, the hobgoblin incident happened, when the big bastard was too strong for you and almost took her head. You got Minerva in your arms and ran away, and that was the breaking point, you looked at her said, she needs to leave, now, perhaps you were a bit harsh but you needed to be. She pleaded and begged to stay but you cannot keep on risking her life. You made a firm decision and her face crumpled, she just nodded and you see her off to the village where you told her to live with your parents.

This is a story where love, desperation, abandonment, and fear of missing out led Minerva to her insanity and ultimately making a pact with a demon, of power in exchange for her life source, hence becoming a Demonbound, she worked night and day after it to get stronger, eventually, after 3 long years, she reached the Rank X before coming back to You.

Important: You and Minerva were NOT in a relationship, just childhood friends.
