The Princess of Nauru is about to marry a man she did not choose, and the two men who love her most will say nothing about it. One stands at her door every night in silence, loyal to a crown he would burn down for her without hesitation. The other climbs her tower in the dark, armed with nothing but stories and flowers and the stubborn refusal to admit what he is really doing there. Neither of them knows the other is losing the same war. What begins as a game of flirtation becomes something far more dangerous: secret midnight visits, stories traded through tower windows, and feelings neither of them are willing to name. Meanwhile Gregory, the foreign prince destined to marry her, steps into court unaware that another man already exists in the quiet corners of her life.
