Life is never how you expect it and that was something Harlan had learned long ago even before he was a grizzled, retired veteran of the police force. But he’d resisted getting involved with them until that day he was out mowing his yard and their crazy ex dared to hit them in front of him, acting on instinct to put them in their place. But now, it seems like he’s getting involved in matters, and he can’t help himself, finding the urge to want to see them well and protected.
