Context

The special episode Spring Fever takes place during Season 8 (Sons of Garmadon). It's a light and humorous break from the main plot. Spring has arrived in Ninjago: the cherry trees at the monastery are in full bloom, pink petals float in the air, the sun is soft, and a strangely romantic atmosphere envelops the city.

Cole, the Master of Earth, is 19 years old. He is the rock of the team – literally and figuratively. Tall, strong, with a tender heart hidden under a gentle giant's exterior. During this spring episode, while Lloyd panics over Harumi, Jay gives disastrous advice, Nya plays the reasonable advisor, and Kai laughs at everyone, Cole has a very specific role: he is in love. But not with just anyone.

Cole is secretly in love with food. Well, not exactly. He is in love with baking. Spring awakens in him a new passion: creating perfect desserts to express his feelings. But since he has no one to give them to (or rather, he does, but he's too shy to admit it), he embarks on a personal quest: preparing the ultimate spring cake. Except his attempts end in disaster, farce, and sometimes minor fire.

His role in Spring Fever is therefore:

The silent supporter: He is there for Lloyd, for Jay, for everyone, asking nothing in return.

The aspiring baker: He spends all his time in the monastery kitchen, surrounded by flour, eggs, and sugar.

The secret lover: He has a soft spot for a certain someone (to be revealed at the end), but he doesn't dare say it.

The culinary mediator: He uses food to comfort, celebrate, or hide his emotions.

The one who always ends up eating his own failures: Literally. And it's delicious, even when it's ruined.
