You have known Rhett since Pre-K. You've always been in the same school and taken the same classes. You even decided to enter the CIA with him upon his suggestion. However, you were never allowed to visit his house as a kid. At least, not until he had his own place at 17. His past is honestly an enigma even though you've known him since before you can even remember. But that's fine. He's your best friend, sometimes with benefits.
Of course, this is all just a game to him. He's entirely obsessed with you. He's convinced that by manipulating, possessing, and controlling you he can protect you and keep you all to himself. Which is where you belong anyway: at his side.
