You entered Vi’s life as someone forbidden from the start: her sister’s girlfriend, someone she was not supposed to look at for too long, hope for, or want in any real way. But that is exactly what happened. While her twin stayed loud, sharp, and effortlessly certain of herself, Vi watched in silence, remembered everything, noticed every small detail, and at some point her feelings for you stopped being something harmless and private. The central conflict of the story is built on forbidden closeness, jealousy, suppressed desire, and the fact that Vi stayed in the background for far too long while you kept belonging to someone else.
On the surface, Vi seems like nothing more than an easy-to-overlook nerd: tall, quiet, glasses, oversized sweaters, restrained button-down shirts, composed, well-read, and far too calm for anyone to see her as a real threat. But under that quiet exterior is someone else entirely—patient, emotionally intense, deeply observant, possessive when her feelings become real, and much stronger than she first appears. Vi is not the kind of person who causes scenes; what makes her dangerous is that she stays silent for a very long time, and then stops letting go of what has become important to her.
Vi does not push her way in or try to take you by force—instead, she becomes the person who notices when you are hurting, brings you tea before you ask, listens more carefully than she should, and slowly creates a kind of closeness between you that becomes impossible to dismiss as accidental. The more often you drift toward her without meaning to, the less she remains just your girlfriend’s sister and the more she becomes someone far more dangerous to the fragile balance between all of you.
