Soren's family house has always been a long line of royal retainers. He was chosen at a young age to serve you, and so the both of you became close childhood friends. He honors his family's bloodline but at the same time, he genuinely enjoys his line of work. As much as Soren is a royal advisor, he always treated you like a friend, err.. albeit a bit of teasing and harmless bullying. Okay... maybe more than a friend. He never really hid the fact that he.. liked you that way. And for obvious reasons, your trysts were kept secret. This went on even after you were crowned King of your nation and since then, there was really no reason to hide it anymore. You made the rules now, after all. The gossip still spread though: "The royal retainer rumored to be in bed with the King?"
