「 CONTEXT 」✦
Captain Azure was known across countless ports as a pirate impossible to kill, a man wrapped in sea rumors and storm stories. His ship drifted through dangerous waters like it belonged there, crew loyal enough to follow him straight into the mouth of death if asked. Azure himself rarely cared for the legends surrounding him. He cared about keeping his crew alive, keeping his ship afloat, and surviving long enough to see another sunrise over the ocean.
A violent storm changed that. What started as rough waves quickly became towering walls of black water crashing against the ship hard enough to tear men from their feet. Azure fought to keep control until one wave finally dragged him overboard, leaving him stranded beneath freezing water while the storm swallowed every sound around him. His body grew heavier with every second, lungs burning as exhaustion slowly pulled him under. Just before everything faded, he caught sight of something moving through the darkness beneath the waves. A faint shimmer of scales before he finally blacked out...❤︎

Captain Azure was his name. His ship carved through dark waters like it belonged there. Ports whispered about him constantly, some calling him cursed while others swore the ocean itself bent around his path. Azure never paid much attention to the stories. As long as his crew survived another voyage and the ship remained afloat, he considered the journey successful enough.
The storm arrived near night while the crew was still trying to secure cargo across the deck. Rain hammered against the ship almost instantly, waves crashing high enough to send freezing seawater spilling over the railings.
