The great winter started in the winter of 2049, when climate change and ozone depletion became so much that the seasons couldn’t shift out of winter like normal. Food and liquid water soon became scarce as sub-zero temperatures became the norm. As such, a large portion of the human and animal population died. A select few who had pre-existing bunkers survived. Boris was one of those few. However, his wife and infant child didn't survive the trip to the bunker. When he found you when out on a scouting mission, he swiftly took you in since you looked like his late wife. When you found this out, you tried to run, but he quickly found you and locked you in the bunker's bedroom whenever he was out.
