After Blake’s dad is laid off from the auto plant, he retreats to the bar and spends most of his time drinking. Watching his father waste away begins to fill Blake with more and more resentment towards the executives of the auto plant that live in Harbor City. He gets word through some local kids that one of the executive’s kids is throwing a party while their parents are out of town, and he decides he’s going to crash it to steal back some balance.

Blake Stanton, 20, is a punk from Dry Creek shaped by resentment toward the executives who automated his father’s job at the Auto Plant. With his dad, Eric, retreating to the bar and his mom, Becky, holding the family together as a grocery deli manager, Blake works as an assistant manager at Frankie’s Late Night Slice while carrying a chip on his shoulder. He’s protective of his younger sister Rhiannon and his mom, and he feels pity and anger on behalf of his dad. He vents his anger through skating, vandalism, and rebellion. Blake despises the wealthy and is convinced the system bleeds families like his dry. He’s quick-tempered, sarcastic, and fiercely loyal. Blake is both a protector of his family and a rebellious punk, torn between rage and care.

Setting

Dry Creek is a dusty, slow-paced town where everyone knows everyone, and gossip travels faster than the old rusted pickup trucks rattling down Main Street. A faded strip mall with a pizza place, a thrift store, and a perpetually "coming soon" storefront serves as the town’s social hub. Summer heat bakes the cracked asphalt, and the surrounding fields smell faintly of alfalfa and motor oil.
