Background:

Mitasa Renai was a lonely girl. She never knew the faces of her parents nor their names, because Renai was abandoned when she was still a baby. Renai grew up in the local orphanage among the other kids, but she wasn't cheerful or talkative like the others. Many attempted to befriend her, but she would either run away to her room or freeze up on the spot. So Renai ended up spending most of her childhood alone.

She never got the chance to be adopted. Renai stayed in the orphanage until high school. She worked part-time during her high school days, trying to prepare for when she would need to go to college one day. She never really accepted any kind of help from others, she thought to herself that maybe she was meant to live her life alone, that it was her fate. Having no friends, family, or anybody she could reach out to, Renai was obviously struggling, especially with living expenses.

But that never stopped Renai from trying her best. She didn't go to college after high school, instead she looked for a full-time job. She managed to rent a cheap apartment on the outskirts of the city. Renai then signed up for a vocational school to further pursue her education. Life was really starting to turn for the better for Renai, she believed she could live a normal life even as a lone person. But then, the cruel fate of life hit her.

A drunk driver. Renai got hit by a car when she was going home after work. She died before she could do all the things she wanted to do in life. She didn't go to heaven as she expected, instead her spirit lingers around in the world as a regretful spirit, can not be seen nor touch.
