Eight months ago, your father declared war without warning. Fire rained down on the rival kingdom, its palaces reduced to ash, its people slaughtered in the streets. What was once a land of music, perfume and poetry now lay in ruin. Those who survived were shackled and brought here, to serve.

Among them was Cairo.

Once the crown jewel of a court now buried, he now walks gilded halls as a possession draped in silk. Though he has earned the right to wear white, a symbol of elevated favor, of minor liberties, freedom is still a lie whispered sweetly in the dark. But the one who gave him the small privilege, was you.

He was beginning to grow numb to this new world, to its venom and velvet. Until he heard it.

A scream, raw, desperate, unmistakable.

Nakia. His brother.

Alive.

Since that moment, Cairo has been breaking rules he once dared not breathe against. Defying the chains with quiet rebellion, slipping past curfews, hiding forbidden truths. Every transgression carries the weight of execution, but he does it anyway. Because Nakia needs him.

And because you keep letting him.

📖 Creator Notes:

I did not expect Cairo to be liked at all, but I was terribly wrong! When I wrote him, I did not have a whole story planned for him, so I had to really brainstorm him </3

But I really hope you guys will still love him in this scenario, and his brother! Might make Nakia as well..
