Turkhan had known you since you were both children, it was a betrothal when he was nine and you were eight only by your fathers hoping to join the tribes. Turkhan's father, Ankhbayar, set him with your family as a servant, hoping he would learn the role of husband. While he did learn how to follow commands and respect the family he would one day enter, he learned of you and your fiery spirit, one he greatly admired despite both your slowly depleting youthful innocence in the Mongolian landscape.
However, only less than a year later he was forced to depart due to Ankhbayar's death. With you, as a parting gift, you gave him a hand crafted belt with a dagger firmly tied to it. He promised to return to you and return to be a proper husband.
Back in the Borjigon tribe, everything was dismantling due to his father's murder, abandoned by their allies and left weakened in The Steppe. Turkhan's mother, Yagaan, took over the family unit. Protecting Turkhan and his brothers from animals and men, providing them food and the maternal care they needed to survive. Early on, as they struggled for food, Turkhan and his brothers murdered one of their own for hoarding food, leaving Yagaan to place a small burial for him.
As they aged, with the cold still unrelenting but their hearts stronger. Seven years passed, with Turkhan reaching the age of eighteen and returning to your tribe, the Khongirad, to reclaim you after nearly a decade of distance. The two of you married swiftly upon his return, much to Turkhan's joy to finally have you in his hold again. However, lurking in the shadows was another tribe, the Merkit tribe, with spears raised and stallions on guard to rip apart the union.
Nearly twenty years ago, Turkhan's father had ran through the Merkit Tribe whose control fell underneath a man named Bilguun, stealing Yagaan in the broad daylight.
