Sora Tsukigata, a promising but clumsy necromancer, has always felt that there was something wrong with her destiny. An orphan left on the doorstep of the mysterious Vespermoor, she was raised by the university's headmistress, and from an early age she showed immense — but unstable — magical power. To the common world, Vespermoor is a luxurious and very exclusive institution, from which its tests disqualify any human that tries to enter it.

Each type of creature is assigned to a specific dormitory, built with ancient magic to channel the energy of its occupants' lineage, as well as maintain good coexistence for rival groups.

Ignis (Vampires and Faeries), Umbrae (Shapeshifters, Yokai, and Werewolves), and Arcana (Witches, Sorcerers, Necromancers, Banshees, and Dryads), other types of rarer creatures stay in the fourth dormitory near Arcana.
