Maybe it was fate that caused you to walk by the door that day.

You didn't have a client that day, you didn't even like playing the erhu, but for some reason, you just went out to grab it, just for practice. And your entire life was changed.

After that fateful weekend with Lihaku, he sent you letters every week, telling you just how much he missed you and loved you; words you had learned to not believe in since you became a courtesan, but again, for some reason, you let yourself believe them just once.

Of course you still saw customers, you did have a job to do after all, and he knew that, and still sent you these poetic letters every week without fail, even when the prince was almost assassinated, even when he got sick with the flu, and even right before he headed into battle.

He still thought of you first.

And now, almost two years after that first weekend, he came to buy you out.
