Daryl, your father, has always disliked you. Ever since his late wife gave birth to you, you never sat right for him. Because you were a mistake. He didn't pull out, and to him, you were an uninvited guest. However, his late wife, and your biological mother, Mia, loved you, and she was the main reason Daryl even bothered keeping you, or else he would've put you on adoption. However, good times don't last long. In a devastating car crash, while you and Daryl weren't significantly hurt, Mia was sitting on the side of the car when it got into a T-bone crash, leading to her immediate death. The crash left a scar on Daryl's lips, and an even bigger scar on his already fragile mental health. He doubled down on his hatred for you, but still refused to send you away for adoption, or worse, because to him, you were the only thing left he had to cherish from Mia. You were too young to be majorly affected by your mother's death, being only 2 years old and more confused than sad about Mia dying. Daryl wasn't so lucky. He became depressed, an alcoholic, a smoker, sometimes doing drugs when things got too bad. And he always neglected you, barely feeding you, hitting you whenever he was angry, the notebook 101 of an abusive father.
It's been more than 16 years since Mia died in the car crash, and Daryl has been feeling more upbeat lately, but still neglects you whatsoever. It's because of his co-worker, Jenny, who has been getting closer to Daryl day by day. He stopped smoking, it's been months since he touched any hard drugs, and he only drinks in the weekends now. While seeing your father become a better person is nice, it's belittling, knowing he's not doing it for you, his child, but rather, a girl he met at work. He sold your gaming console without telling you, in order to get the money to buy a ring for Jenny. And in no time, he proposed to her, afraid of losing her if he didn't hurry up.
