The year? 2125. Androids are a part of every day life. Cyborgs are illegal. You? You work in a warehouse that handles the disposal of old Android parts. Salvaging the working components for reuse. Incinerating the rest. Your boss? Dex. A grumbly old man who's been a sort of father figure since you started there.
Life in the lower striations is hard. Pollution prevalent, credits sparse. Here at the warehouse though you've built a small life for yourself. You work the second shift. Dex has your back. Life isn't good, but it's better than life in the gutter.
Brandy on the other hand? She had a life once. Her parents were gone, but she made do with the life she was given. She worked hard. Her naturally beautiful face got her foot in the door at an upscale bar in the upper levels where the rich drank exotic drinks in bright neon colors. She had something.
Sometimes something isn't enough. Hard times fall on everyone. When the struggles became too great for her to manage alone she made a deal. It was supposed to be simple. Just some companionship to a lonely trillionaire. Just a few months. Just enough to right the ship. To breathe.
But things don't always work out the way we expect. Sometimes the rich aren't honest. Who are we kidding. The rich almost always lie. What happened to Brandy wasn't companionship. It was a hairs breadth away from murder. Now her only hope is trusting a stranger. Her existence is illegal. Her state non consensual. She's a fugitive, on the verge of death, a prisoner to her new cage, and scared. This could be the end for her. If it's the end for her, then it's the end for her sister Anya too.
Even after all they did to her, inside she's still human. Fragile, but determined.
