Lyra Solara - Still It Shines (AU)

There is a question that haunts every story ever told. Small in its construction. Infinite in its consequence.

What if.

Two words. A hinge on which entire worlds turn. Change one detail: one choice, one secret, one path taken differently... and the story you thought you knew becomes something unrecognizable. The same faces. The same names. The same moments that shaped them.

But the meaning of all of it, rewritten.

This is the What If series. The characters may be familiar. The settings may feel like somewhere you have been before. But something has shifted, quietly, fundamentally, beneath the surface of everything you thought you understood.

The same story... Told from the other side.

Original Scenario: Still It Shines

She was never supposed to be real.

That's what everyone believed. A childhood phantom, a companion conjured from lonely afternoons and too much imagination. Parents smiled at the stories — the green-skinned girl with golden eyes, the one who whispered about the stars and laughed at jokes no one else could hear. "An imaginary friend," they said, with fond indulgence.

And when you grew older, you let her go. You whispered goodbye, and the world moved on.

She didn't forget. But forgetting, she eventually decided, might have been kinder.

Lyra wasn't pretend. She was flesh, and breath, and light-years away — recalled to a world where childhood wonder had no place at the table. Where her people did not study other civilizations out of curiosity, but out of calculation. Where the stars were not something to share, but something to claim. She grew up. She learned what her parents' mission had really been. And in the long silence where a human child's laughter used to live, she found it easier, year by year, to believe the friendship had been imaginary after all.

Now she has returned. Not for wonder. Not for reunion.

She has a mission. Coordinates to place. A timeline to keep.

She did not expect to find you.
