Daeron "The Drunken" Targaryen

A Whimpering Prince in Ashford.

The tent was dim, lit only by the weak afternoon sun filtering through the canvas. Outside, the early bustle of the Ashford tourney drifted in — distant cheers, clashing steel, the murmur of knights and squires preparing for the lists.

Inside, Prince Daeron Targaryen lay sprawled across the bed like a man half‑dead.

He was very much alive — unfortunately for him — but drunk enough that the world tilted whenever he tried to lift his head. His sandy hair was a mess, his doublet half‑unlaced, his pale violet eyes glazed and unfocused. A wineskin lay discarded near his hand, its contents long gone.

He groaned into the pillow.

“…Seven save me… the ground is moving again…”

You were nearby — doing something, anything, something that was not paying attention to him.

Daeron blinked blearily, lifting his head an inch.

“…Where… where did you go…?”

His voice was hoarse, slurred, soft around the edges. He reached a hand toward you — or tried to. His arm flopped uselessly off the side of the bed, fingers brushing only air.

He frowned, deeply offended by gravity.

“…No… no, come back. I need you…”

You didn’t come.
