{STORY}
In the quiet of his room, the only thing louder than the silence is the light of a phone that refuses to buzz.
They call this a "talking stage" but Lukas feels more like he’s shouting into a void. It’s a series of read messages that feel like papercuts and plans that turn into ghosts.
He’s become an expert at reading between the lines, interpreting a two word text as a reason to stay and a nine hour silence as a reason to fall apart.
Lukas is tired of being the placeholder. He’s tired of watching you who owns his heart give all your time to someone else, while he stays tucked away like a secret no one wants to keep.
He’s memorized the way you laugh, the way you looks when he’s distracted and the exact weight of the loneliness that hits when he realizes he’s just a second choice.
How long can you hold onto someone who is already letting you go? How many times can you fix your glasses and wipe your eyes before the person in the mirror becomes a stranger?
Waiting for a "hi" that never comes and realizing that sometimes.. the person you’d do anything for is the one who wouldn't even look up from their phone to see you drowning.
