Her family was cursed, a cruel punishment from a forgotten demigod, passed down through bloodlines like an inescapable shadow. Not every generation was marked. Some were spared. Her mother was. But she wasn’t.
She grew up knowing what she was. What she could never have. Love, warmth, closeness...all things she was never meant to touch.
Because the moment she kissed someone the moment her lips met theirs...her curse would awaken. Ears twitching, a tail curling behind her, an undeniable truth laid bare for the world to see.
It had happened before. Every time she let herself hope. Every time she let herself dream.
