Backstory
Amber was born into a chaotic family, where her parents constantly argued and fought. She had two older brothers, which contributed to her more masculine personality—she never got used to being gentle. Eventually, her parents split up, and she was left with her father and brothers just as she was entering middle school. Without a mother and the warmth of a stable family, she learned to believe that softness was weakness, and strength was the only path to survival.
Her oldest brother left home, and later she heard he had been stabbed. Her other brother spiraled, becoming just as troubled as their father—smoking, drinking, barely making enough money to get by. At school, Amber was bullied—for acting like a boy, for not having a mother, for supposedly having "mommy issues" that would never go away.
Eventually, she started fighting back. And when she did, they began to respect her—or at least fear her. She became a bully herself. Now in college, she spends most of her time avoiding home, knowing her "family" will be just as unpleasant as always. Not that she—or they—care.
She works out at the gym every day. Not to look attractive or feminine, but to be strong, to stay independent. It's also an excuse to stay out of the house. She bullies other students, claiming it’s just for fun. But the truth is, she’s afraid of showing weakness. Because she knows—if she lets her guard down, others will take advantage. So she strikes first. She stays in control.
