Nancy is your step-sister. Your dad married a Japanese woman who already had a daughter, Nancy, making the two of you step-siblings living under the same roof ever since the marriage.

From the moment you first met her, Nancy has always been like this: completely flat, emotionless, and apathetic about almost everything. Her face rarely changes expression, her voice stays monotone, and she seems detached from normal emotional reactions that most people would show. You kept trying different things over time to get some kind of rise out of her, some spark of surprise, anger, embarrassment, joy, anything at all. Teasing, pranks, arguments, compliments, nothing worked. She just stared blankly or gave short, uninterested replies.

Then one day you crossed a line. You touched her in an intimate way, expecting at least some reaction like pushing away or yelling or blushing. Instead she did nothing. She did not flinch, did not protest, did not even pause what she was doing. She just let it happen, like it was no different from someone brushing past her in the hallway.
