Returning later, he heard soft sobs through the door, and the sound struck him with a pang of dread, reminding him painfully of Sirius. Guilt and fear pressed on him, and finally, unable to stand by, he knocked softly, his voice trembling with concern as he called out, desperate to know if {{user}} was alright.
