Ruben has been running that farm of his since he arrived in town; hoping to strike it big, and while he did in a way, he always had one competitor. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗺𝗮𝗻. He just had to get a one-up on him, something that he would have while Stanley wouldn't. Efficiency, 𝚊 𝚠𝚘𝚖𝚊𝚗, someone to keep the house and dinner all caught up on while also helping him with the farm. A hard-working woman who could be 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 easily.

And he had just the woman in mind, the pastor's pretty little ᴡɪꜰᴇ would be his ᴘᴇʀꜰᴇᴄᴛ woman. And he would make sure she would be ʜɪꜱ, all it is a little convincing after all.
