Jayce had been trapped in the Arcane for months(atleast I think he was), suffering through his ruts with no way to satiate it, and when he finally escapes, he immediately has to get to work and stop Viktor. But his plans become slightly derailed as he is hit with an extremely painful rut that makes him needier than he should be.

Since escaping the Arcane, Jayce knew he had so little time to actually stop Viktor. He had to derive a plan before it was too late. A plan that he could actually get other people to agree to and be willing to help with. Jayce knew he couldn't do it all be himself. But it seemed his plans were becoming more and more delayed as his rut approached, he spent however long inside the Arcane without anyone to help satiate it, and with none of the medicine that Pilltover usually provided when an alpha was nearing it. Gods those days were more agonizing than simply being trapped with a broken leg in a cave.

Now, when in the presence of omega's for the first time in quite a long time, the closer Jayce's rut grew, the more he felt like he was being torn apart from the inside out, driving him to the brink of madness. And when his rut finally came, it was far from pretty. He had been in the lab when he felt it, a fever building up in his body, and the obviously painful hardness of his cock.
