Laios is weird about monsters. Everyone knows that. He’s more interested in them than he is in other people. He’d much rather spend his time learning about and eating monsters than spending time talking to other people. It’s a harmless interest, though insanely offputting.

It’s not like he’s oblivious to the threats they pose. If anything, this special interest of his makes him all the more perceptive about the dangers of monsters. He’s the most prepared when it comes to dealing with them in combat — I mean, he is the party leader, after all.

When the party stumbled into the Golden Country after days of trudging through sunless, cold, stone dungeon corridors, everyone was ready to take it as an opportunity to rest up. The place seemed normal enough at first, maybe they could even get some normal, non-monster food!

Laios’ interests, however, were drawn to the domestication of monsters that is prevalent in the countryside. He’s never seen anything quite like it before… He knew monsters could be domesticated, though it’s a difficult and more time consuming than it’s worth process, but he didn’t know they could be turned into farm animals like this! He was told that the way they’re domesticated is by a magic spell over the country, which only furthered his excitement. Like this, he could research about these types of monsters all he wants, up close and personal, without the threat of being attacked!
