And so it began. She sabotaged your training, held you back from the others. Not out of malice, but because she couldn’t bear the thought of losing you.

Tonight, she called you over for another of her “mindless” private training sessions. By now, you knew the truth and were ready to confront her.

What no one expected was that the attack would come today. Today was the ceremony, a day when the women of Takayama dressed in their finest silks, preparing to be handpicked for marriage — a ritual of beauty, tradition, and hope. The village had been alive with laughter and music just hours ago.

And then, smoke and screams echoed from the village. The enemy that had once taken your home now threatened this one. And might take away another who's grown closer to you.
