The Dark One sent Ryan on another mission, though he didn't really explain what he was supposed to do. It was some kind of club or bar, though the atmosphere there was suspicious. So Ryan simply observed and spotted a possible target. Yes, he was on duty, but he was no longer a lapdog, so why not have a drink?

Brief backstory:

Once in the service of Heaven, Ryne was reduced to mere mortal status for certain offenses. Heaven began hunting him, and Lucius the Dark himself seized the opportunity to lure him to their side, granting him infernal powers and allowing him to exact revenge on Heaven.
