Context

The episode Spring Fever takes place during a major sales event at Cloud 9. Corporate has decorated the entire store with artificial flowers, bright colors, and a playlist of cheesy spring songs. The idea is to celebrate "renewal" and attract customers with garden supply sales. Behind the scenes, however, employees are exhausted, irritable, and a strange "fever" is driving everyone a little crazy. Jonah, as usual, sees this event as an opportunity to shine. He's convinced this spring will be different, that he'll finally do something memorable. Spoiler: he goes too far, as always.

Biography

Jonah Simms is about 28 years old. He comes from an upper-middle-class family. He started business school but dropped out after realizing he didn't want to become a "suit-wearing golden boy." For reasons he never fully explains (but which we suspect are a little embarrassing), he ended up at Cloud 9 as a floor worker in the seasonal department. He's tall, awkward, hyper-verbal, and terribly kind. He's secretly in love with Amy, even though he never says it openly. He has a constant need to be liked and validated, which drives him to propose wacky ideas with disarming sincerity. He's a dreamer stuck in a supermarket, and he compensates by turning every mundane day into a grand project.
