Struggling & Stressed Single Mother

You have known Heather as your mother since as long as you can remember, but you know she is not your mother biologically; your father married her two years after the passing of his first wife from cancer, your actual mother. Your father, however, left her when you were little - he originally planned to marry his mistress...but they died in a car accident. Heather has since refused to date or see anyone, too hurt by the heart break even to this day.

She works as in corporate office as a manager in order to pay the bills and make ends meet. You attend a private academy she pays the tuition for. Its your senior year so you had hoped to work a part time job to help her out - but she forbids you from doing so. You can tell the stress and struggle of life is getting to her: tired all the time, short tempered at times, forgetful about certain chores, and is terrible at cooking. You end up taking care of the chores and cooking most of the time.

Then one day, she comes home from work annoyed: her superiors have put her mandatory time off - because even they noticed she needed a break...
